Over the past week, the ASD team attended several community meetings hosted by the Tennessee Black Alliance for Educational Options. At these meetings, we presented information to parents and community members about how they can be involved and engaged in the Community Input Process. If you were unable to attend, here are the answers to the questions asked by students, parents, teachers, and community members.

And here are the important dates and events you need to know to stay engaged in the process moving forward:

Now to October 23:
  • Operators and communities learn more about one another to determine how an operator may serve a school community
  • Neighborhood Advisory Councils are formed–learn more about Neighborhood Advisory Council here
  • Operators MAY submit applications if they feel like they are equipped to serve a school community
October 23 to Early December:
  • NACs review application and interview operators
  • Parents and community members take survey to give their feedback on applications
