Green Dot Public Schools, the public charter operator interested in matching with Raleigh-Egypt High School, has decided not to match with Raleigh-Egypt High as part of this year’s process. Green Dot is honoring the Raleigh-Egypt community’s request to wait a year and is planning to strengthen its ties with the Memphis community while they focus on their other two schools in Memphis.

During community meetings, we heard a clear commitment to Raleigh-Egypt High’s success and were often asked to give the school a chance to make significant improvement this year.  Based on Green Dot’s decision, the school now has that chance.

We’re hoping for a great year at Raleigh-Egypt and encourage parents to stay active and engaged in the months to come. If Raleigh-Egypt doesn’t make significant progress this year, it will still be eligible to match with Green Dot in the 2016-17 school year.
